Program Description

Description

Join us for a 45-minute educational cultural heritage presentation celebrating Native American heritage, featuring Abuela M'api Rainflowa and the Calmecac Indigenous Organization. This captivating event showcases the rich tradition of Aztec dance, a sacred expression of cosmic harmony that integrates body and spirit.

Founded by Abuela M'api Rainflowa—an Indigenous hip-hop artist and educator—Calmecac Tonantzin Yolilitzyotl preserves and promotes Mexicayotl cultural practices through intergenerational traditions. Experience traditional dances performed with handmade huehuetl drums, accompanied by Nahuatl songs. Discover the profound connections between art, spirituality, and community as we honor Texas's Indigenous history and celebrate resilience, connection, and cultural continuity.
