Delay Opening Alert

The George Memorial Library in Richmond and the Library Administration Building will open at 12 pm on Mon, Feb 9, because there will be no water in the buildings. Notary services will also be unavailable during this time.

CLOSING

Cinco Ranch Branch Library will be CLOSED for several weeks starting Mon, Jan 12, because we are replacing carpet throughout the building. The outdoor book drop will remain OPEN during the time the building is closed, and library items may be returned at Cinco Ranch Branch. 

All items that were requested to be held at Cinco Ranch Branch should be picked up at Fulshear Branch library. If another location is more convenient for you, please contact Fulshear Branch to reroute the items to your preferred location.

3D Printing

A 3D printer is available at the Cinco Ranch Branch, Fulshear Branch, George Memorial Library, Mamie George Branch, Mission Bend Branch, Missouri City Branch and Sienna Branch for use by anyone with a valid Fort Bend County Libraries card or a valid government-issued photo ID. Children may use printers if accompanied by an adult.

Library users can bring print files in .stl format on a flash drive to the library. Library staff will be the ones to actually print the object. A fee of $0.20 per gram of filament used will be charged, with a $1.00 minimum.

Small items can take as little as 20 minutes to print, while other items can take much longer. Projects printed at the libraries have a 5-hour print time maximum. The 3D printers can print objects up to 8” wide x 8” high x 8” deep. Designs must be copyright-free or the library user must have license authorization.

FBCL's 3D printers may NOT be used to create material that is: prohibited by local, state, or federal law; material that is unsafe, harmful, dangerous, or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others, including weapons.
