April 2026
Fort Bend County Libraries will host two “swaps” in April.
- Board Game and Puzzle Swap – George Memorial Library (1001 Golfview Dr, Richmond, TX 77469)
Saturday, April 18, 1-4 pmIf your board game and puzzle shelf is feeling a little too familiar, it might be time for a swap. Join us for a community Board Game & Puzzle Swap at George Memorial Library! Donate a complete board game or jigsaw puzzle of 250 pieces or more between April 1–17 and receive one early-access voucher per puzzle donated (maximum of three vouchers). Voucher holders will enjoy early access to the swap from 1:00 – 1:45 pm. No puzzles to donate? No problem! Everyone is welcome to participate during regular swap hours from 2 – 4 pm. Any unclaimed board games and puzzles will be used for library programming or donated to the Friends of the George Memorial Library. A community puzzle will be in progress during the event.
- Plant Swap – First Colony Branch Library (2121 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479) Saturday, April 25, 10:30 am
Plant lovers are invited to join the First Colony branch for a plant swap. Staff will take plants in exchange for tickets in the first 10 minutes. At 10:40 am, the plant swap will begin - each person who brings a plant will be given the opportunity to swap for a plant that another patron has provided. Each plant a patron brings (up to three) will allow them to trade for another plant. After patrons who have brought plants trade, any extra plants will be given away to those looking to start or grow their plant collection. Plant variety or availability cannot be guaranteed to late arrivals.
New to the plant world? Bring something simple like some succulent cuttings or babies. Plant enthusiasts — bring some of your special stuff to share with the rest of the collectors. Remember that everyone is in a different place in their plant journey so be prepared to chat, trade & learn. Learning is half the fun and so is collecting! Please, no plants for sale, just trades.
Staff of First Colony Branch will be providing propagations of popular plants. Patrons are welcome to bring propagated or established plants. For each plant, please provide a common or scientific name.
