Cinco Ranch Branch Library will be CLOSED for several weeks starting Mon, Jan 12, because we are replacing carpet throughout the building. The outdoor book drop will remain OPEN during the time the building is closed, and library items may be returned at Cinco Ranch Branch. 

All items that were requested to be held at Cinco Ranch Branch should be picked up at Fulshear Branch library. If another location is more convenient for you, please contact Fulshear Branch to reroute the items to your preferred location.

Join us to screen the documentary film, We Want The Funk!, with a brief discussion afterwards. This documentary is a syncopated voyage through the history of funk music, tracing its roots in African rhythms, soul, and early jazz to its explosive rise in popular culture. Featuring icons like James Brown, George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic, Labelle, and Fela Kuti, the documentary also explores how funk shaped later genres such as new wave and hip-hop, highlighting its lasting cultural and musical influence.  It runs 1 hour and 20 minutes. 

Park inside the gated lot (VISITOR LOT 4).  Bring your parking ticket with you inside the library to be validated by library staff.  Parking is FREE if you get your ticket validated.  Parking outside the gated lot may result in a parking violation from the University of Houston.
