WEATHER ALERT

All libraries, except Cinco Ranch Branch, will be OPEN normal hours on Saturday, January 24. On Sunday, January 25, George Memorial Library in Richmond (8 am – 5 pm), and Sienna Branch Library (1 pm – 5 pm) will be open as WARMING CENTERS ONLY. Library services will not be available on Sunday. Check back for updates. 

CLOSING

Cinco Ranch Branch Library will be CLOSED for several weeks starting Mon, Jan 12, because we are replacing carpet throughout the building. The outdoor book drop will remain OPEN during the time the building is closed, and library items may be returned at Cinco Ranch Branch. 

All items that were requested to be held at Cinco Ranch Branch should be picked up at Fulshear Branch library. If another location is more convenient for you, please contact Fulshear Branch to reroute the items to your preferred location.

Description

Based on stories written by L. Frank Baum, this award-winning film classic stars Judy Garland as a girl named Dorothy who lives on a farm in Kansas. When a cyclone sweeps across the plains, Dorothy, her house, and her dog are picked up by the twister and transported to a magical land. Things are strange and beautiful in this new land, but Dorothy just wants to return home to Kansas. She begins a trek to the Emerald City to find a wizard who can help her. Along the way, she meets a scarecrow who needs a brain, a tin man who wants a heart, and a cowardly lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the wizard can help them before the Wicked Witch of the West catches up to them! The suggested MPAA rating for this movie is PG.
