Cinco Ranch Branch Library is currently CLOSED for carpet replacement and will RE-OPEN on Monday, March 9. The outdoor book drop will remain OPEN during the time the building is closed, and library items may be returned at Cinco Ranch Branch. 

Cinco Ranch Branch patrons with hold items available for pickup on or before March 6, 2026, currently being held at the Fulshear Branch Library should visit the Fulshear Branch to pick up those items. If another location is more convenient, please contact the Fulshear Branch Library to have your items rerouted to your preferred pickup location.

 
Any hold requests filled after March 6 will be held at the Cinco Ranch Branch and will be available during its open hours. The pickup location will be indicated on your hold notification.

This lecture will introduce you to some amazing African American slaves that defied the odds and escaped to freedom. Their ingenious plans were fraught with risk and danger. Learn how Robert Smalls stole a Confederate steamer right out of the Charleston harbor and how Henry “Box” Brown mailed himself to abolitionists in the north. The story of Harriet Jacobs will also be discussed along with the harrowing escape of Ellen and William Craft. Their courageous stories will inspire you.
