Fresh Ink Poetry Slam

Share your voice at our Fresh Ink Poetry Slam! Poets ages 13+ are invited to perform original work inspired by this year’s theme, “Community Voices.” Explore belonging, identity, shared spaces, resilience, and the people or moments that shape us. 

Open to teens (13–17) and adults (18+), all experience levels welcome — first-time poets encouraged! 

Awards include: 

• Youth Voice Award (Teen Division) – $50 

• Artistry in Language Award (Adult Division) – $50 

• Community Choice Award (Audience Vote) – $50 

Submission Details: 

• One original, unpublished poem per person 

• Maximum 2 pages (written) or 5 minutes (performance) 

• Appropriate for a general library audience 

• Submit by April 23 to https://www.fortbendlibraries.gov/form/2026-poetry-slam
