Program Description

Description

Staff at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library are planning a costume swap of gently used children, teens, and adults Halloween costumes Drop-Off week of Tuesday, October 1st through Thursday, October 10th.

The event is geared toward everyone looking to donate an outgrown costume and/or find a new one for themselves. The library is accepting newborn through adult costumes that are freshly laundered and bagged with all accessories. Costumes with any tears or damage on the fabric will not be accepted.

Participants simply need to bring the bagged costume at the Cinco Ranch Branch Information Desk - 1st floor, where they will receive one Swap Ticket per costume to use at the swap on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 11am - 3pm in the Meeting Room.

Donate a costume and receive a Swap Ticket to be redeemed on October 12, 2024. At the Swap - those with tickets will have entry at 11am and those without a ticket at 1pm.

At the swap event, attendees can pick out a costume with their ticket from available costumes in a variety of sizes and styles.

***RESPOOK, REWEAR, RESCARE! Participate in the swap and help keep costumes out of landfills!  Because most costumes are made from polyester and plastics and are not recyclable, each year roughly 2,000 tons of costumes end up in the trash.***
