Program Description

Description

Join Andrew Bennett, FBC Willie Melton Law Library Branch Manager, for a general overview of the free legal resources available for all Fort Bend County Residents. Andrew will also discuss an ongoing program called “Lawyer in the Library.” “Lawyer in the Library” is a free program sponsored by Lone Star Legal Aid and the Earl Carl Institute, offering attorneys on site on Mondays from 8:30 am to 12 noon, and Wednesdays, from 9 am to 1 pm, for brief, one-on-one preliminary consultations on a variety of Civil legal issues. Individuals are helped on a first-come, first-served basis; appointments are not necessary. No registration required.

The Willie Melton Law Library is located at 1422 Eugene Heimann Circle, Room 20714, Richmond, TX 77469 inside the Justice Center. The goal of the Fort Bend County Law Library is to provide non-discriminatory support for the legal research, reference, and educational needs of all litigants, attorneys, judges, county officials, and other interested individuals in Fort Bend County. Personnel of Fort Bend County Law Library have a duty to neither engage in the unauthorized practice of law nor to solicit an attorney-client relationship. The staff does have a special duty to protect the essential confidential relationship that exists between a user and the library.
