Adulting 101: Quick Hems

Description

In this program participants will learn how to add a quick hem to an item that is too long. Participants will learn basic hand sewing skills such as how to quickly sew or iron on a hem, sew a quick button, and how to quickly mend items. Small sewing kits will be provided to take home. Participants are encouraged to bring their own clothing, but pieces of fabric will be provided to use as examples.

This program is intended for ages 14 and older. All supplies are provided. Materials for this program are provided with the generous support of the Friends of First Colony Branch Library. Registration required; please register online, in-person or by calling 281-238-2817. Registration opens August 4, 2025.
