Program Description

Description

Welcome to 2025 Book Festival! We celebrate literature, creativity, storytelling, and more.  This year, we're featuring our Fort Bend Community Reads pick, Amanda Churchill, author of The Turtle House. Amanda Churchill is a writer living in Texas. Her novel, The Turtle House, was inspired by the life of her beloved grandmother, a Japanese war bride.  She is also a Writers’ League of Texas 2021 Fellow. She attended the 2021 Community of Writers workshop in fiction as a James D. Houston Memorial Scholarship recipient.

We'll also have the Kids Carnival in the Bohachevsky Gallery, where kids can play games, participate in STEM activities, and more.

Also appearing will be the Dan Gordon, performing "Adventures in Storyland," and Clements High School Yosakoi Dance Team.

This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the George Memorial Library.
