DESCRIPTION:Join us for a two-part workshop covering disaster preparedness
  - one workshop for kids and one for adults.Â  Families will learn ways to
  become better prepared and work together as a team during emergency situa
 tions, such as hurricanes, floods, winter storms, heat waves, and pandemic
 s. Learn about resources that are available inside and outside the home an
 d develop a plan of action to implement during such times.Â The childrenâ€
 ™s session is recommended for youth ages 6 to 11 years, but children of al
 l ages are welcome. In this 45-minute session, children will learn about d
 isasters and ways they can help their families during such events. The pre
 sentation for adults will last one hour and will focus on specific disaste
 r preparations. Â This program is presented in collaboration with AmeriCor
 ps Texas, the Fort Bend County Health &amp; Human Services Department, and
  Sewa International.Â  Â  No registration required.Â Park inside the gated
  lot (VISITOR LOT 4).Â  Bring your parking ticket with you inside the libr
 ary to be validated by library staff.Â  Parking is FREE if you get your ti
 cket validated.Â  Parking outside the gated lot may result in a parking vi
 olation from the University of Houston.
